Who We Are ?

The Neurology Research Organisational Network (NeuRONet) was founded on the 2nd of October 2025 by a group of specialist neurologists and trainees in neurology, led by Dr. Bimsara Senanayake, Senior Consultant Neurologist, Institute of Neurology, National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL).

The birth of NeuRONet stems from a shared vision and a long-standing research culture at Ward 84, National Hospital of Sri Lanka. Ward 84 is a neurology unit both nationally and internationally recognised for its academic excellence and clinical innovation in neurology.

The network represents a close-knit community of neurologists, physician-scientists, and trainees  all past or present mentees of Dr. Bimsara Senanayake  who share a vision of collaborative research, mentorship, and scientific advancement. Over the years, under his leadership, this unit has contributed to numerous high-quality research studies, clinical trials, and scientific publications that have influenced neurological practice in Sri Lanka and abroad.
